COLUMBIA, S.C. – Palmetto Prep has hired Allison Norwood as its new academic advisor.
This will be Allison’s first year working at Palmetto Prep but she is no stranger to working with student-athletes. Allison has worked in public education for 32 years and recently retired after working 12 years at Airport High School, five years at Lexington High School, five years at the South Carolina Department of Education overseeing all high school English Language Arts programs, two years at the district office of School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties, and the last eight years at Dutch Fork High School.
The majority of Allison’s career has focused on the senior student and that has included many senior athletes. She has spent countless hours preparing her students for life after high school, which includes college applications, SAT/ACT prep and other various areas needed to be successful in the transition to college.
Allison will be responsible for the instruction and coordination of credit recovery courses, ACT/SAT preparation courses, NCAA Clearinghouse registration, organizing and maintaining transcripts and test scores, providing transcripts and test scores to college coaches, and calculating core
